41C
DESIGN BRIEF
The building designed by Zara and Zara Design Studio is aimed to be a head turner for the people of Karachi. The design was conceptualized to stir the idea of nostalgia and simultaneously induce contemporary leaps in architecture. 41C is an ode to the familiar, embracing the once prevalent urban warmth of Karachi. The textured concrete, cladded against crimson brick lends its way to a fresh and mellowed outlook. While the facade is conjured through contrasting materiality, it still echoes themes of something similar in its raw and exposed morphology. 41C aims to stand out through blending – blending with the users, blending with their memories, blending with their experience. With additional hints of greenery nestled along its verticality, the building goes on to challenge the accepted norms of what defines a commercial public realm.
